Truck drivers must be especially careful when backing up under a power line. Use a spotter, and stay in your cab with the door closed. Do not raise your dump box under or near an energized power line. On construction sites, there should be a plan drawn up showing where energized power lines exist on the site. The plan should be posted in the supervisor’s office, and all workers should be reminded to pay close attention to the power line plan.
Performing mobile equipment maintenance in parking and fueling areas can be dangerous, Look Up, Look Out, Locate.
Don’t move dump trucks with the box up. Always use caution when raising the box and positioning tarps.
Look for overhead wires in storage yards, loading/delivery areas, stockpile and
dumping zones, and truck scales.
Beware of power lines during the set-up of carnivals, circuses and outdoor shows.
Always exercise caution when operating cherry pickers, radial boom derricks and concrete trucks.
